Reports to:                         Vice President of Metal Operations

Job Location:                     GRG Corporate office, Phoenix AZ

               

 

                JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Manager at GRG is overseeing and leading projects from initiation to completion. This role involves

managing project scope, budget, timelines, and resources, ensuring successful delivery of project objectives, in

line with company policies and procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • BSc/BA in engineering, building science, or a pertinent field.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledgeable about metal roofing and façades products, metal fabrication techniques and installation.
  • Familiar with commercial building procedures and adept at reading and interpreting construction blueprints and specifications.
  • Construction-related associate's or bachelor’s degree is favored.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and MS Project or comparable construction scheduling software.
  • Aptitude to adapt to new construction management software as required.
  • Experience in estimating and quoting is favored.
  • Stellar communication and client interaction skills are highly sought-after.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to determine the specifications of the project.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the project budget, ensuring and maintaining costs within the allocated project budget.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to ensure cost-effective agreements.
  • Determine and monitor necessary resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from the outset, keeping budgetary and project schedule constraints in mind.
  • Prepare, coordinate and manage project schedule. Ensuring timely delivery by monitoring progress and addressing any delays to meet deadlines for on time delivery of the project.
  • Plan all operations related to the project and schedule intermediate phases to guarantee deadlines are met.
  • Acquire required materials and monitor against inventory to address any shortages timely.
  • Liaise and coordinate with Field Superintendents related to the laborers, technicians, and other staff, and providing guidance when necessary.
  • Assess project progress and draft detailed reports.
  • Ensure all health and safety standards are adhered to, reporting any discrepancies

 

GRG SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Know and stay current on Design requirements, codes, and materials.
  • Review and understand Contract Scope of Work and Project Specifications
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposal
    • Enroll in Customer portal to ensure information is current and up to date
  • Review data to determine material, labor, equipment and other project costs
    • Set up C2C spreadsheets
  • Review project submittals and confirm accuracy
    • Work with pre – con team to correct any deficiencies and assist with design needs
  • Track and maintain C2C (the project in its entirety)
    • Update and post weekly
  • Obtain Current project schedules from customers
    • Coordinate with Division Manager to schedule crews
    • Update Smartsheet’s with accurate schedule info
      • Durations and start / finish dates
  • Review and Approve material orders prior to submittal by APM
    • Review and track material shipping bills and confirm accuracy
    • Update distributor/manufacturer of any changes in schedule Timely
    • Navigate deficit freight by short ordering and going another route (distribution or inventory)
  • Work with Pre-Construction team to ensure proper enrollment into specialty insurance programs
    • OCIP/CCIP
    • Ensure ALL NECESSARY SUBCONTRACTORS are enrolled
  • Maintain documentation through ShareFile
  •   Change Orders
    • Create and Issue Field Directive Change orders
      • Submit to customer
      • Add to C2C Change Order Log
      • Follow and Closeout
    • Work with Estimation / Sales team on ASI and Contract changes
    • If scope or add-ons change, review the cost with salesman.
  • Submit and Manage RFI’s to Customers from Design changes, questions or field coordination needs
  • Schedule and Attend all Pre-Construction meetings with clients
    • Pre-cons
    • Pull plans
    • High level coordination/ scheduling meetings
  • Create and Process Subcontracts
    • Labor subs
    • Mechanical/electrical/specialty
    • Review and approve sub invoices weekly
  • Follow Company Communication policy and ensure emails and all other correspondence is happening dail
  • Compile Delay Notices and Impact Reports and send to customer
    • Follow up on impacts and ensure they are being addressed daily
    • Close out with app documentation
  • Attend Project Completion reviews
    • Complete Project Manager portion of documentation ahead of meeting
    • Be prepared to discuss Budget, Pitfall, and accomplishments
  • Review App reports daily for Quality and Accuracy
    • Make comments in APP – Good or Bad
    • Coordinate with Superintendents to ensure deficiencies are being corrected
