Job Description

As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in building and repairing test fixtures for our IoT-connected smart utility metering devices. Your time will be equally divided between guiding maintenance activities and constructing fixtures. You will also engage in new feature testing and conduct regression tests for the NFT teams as part of your training.

Responsibilities

• Build and repair test fixtures for IoT-connected smart utility metering devices.
• Guide maintenance activities and provide support to the maintenance team.
• Construct and assemble fixtures as required.
• Participate in new feature testing and run regression tests for the NFT teams.
• Load and configure operating systems on Linux-based devices (Raspberry Pi, Le Potato).
• Build and configure PCs with Windows operating systems.
• Review tickets and repair test fixtures.
• Assist during peak construction times by assembling DUTs (Devices Under Test).
• Utilize electrical tools such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes for debugging and testing.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in assembly and troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret and work with schematics.
• Strong Linux skills, particularly with Raspberry Pi and Le Potato.
• Experience in building and configuring Windows PCs.
• Familiarity with electrical debugging tools such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Self-starter with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
• Strong ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively.
• Electrical experience or electrical debugging experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with lab tools and basic soldering skills (not mandatory).
• Willingness to assist with assembly during peak construction times.
• Experience as an electrical technician.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Work Environment

The role is based onsite, where you will work with state-of-the-art IoT-connected devices in a Research and Development environment. You will enjoy two weeks of paid time off and holidays. This is a long-term position with a two-year statement of work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
