The Maintenance Reliability Engineer provides reliability & maintenance engineering, mechanical engineering, and mechanical integrity support and expertise to the plant management, maintenance department, and production units as required. The incumbent will have a deep interest in activities of other partner groups and/or crafts and their needs.

$79,000 - $131,700 per year (salary to be determined by geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).

Job Description Summary

The Maintenance Reliability Engineer provides reliability & maintenance engineering, mechanical engineering, and mechanical integrity support and expertise to the plant management, maintenance department, and production units as required. The incumbent will have a deep interest in activities of other partner groups and/or crafts and their needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the sites Reliability subject matter expert, promoting best practices and leading root cause analyses (e.g., 5-Why, RCA, FMEA).
  • Develop and optimize asset care strategies, predictive/preventive maintenance plans, and critical spare parts inventories.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance teams on precision repair, equipment installation, and reliability tools.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve chronic equipment issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead mechanical integrity efforts and ensure alignment with industry standards through procedure updates and audits.
  • Support small capital projects from scope development through commissioning, including contractor oversight and documentation.
  • Utilize SAP for maintenance planning, work order management, and procurement tasks.
  • Provide leadership coverage for maintenance supervision and mentor site personnel, including mechanics, electricians, and vibration technicians.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field required.
  • Industrial experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience (7+ strongly preferred) as a Maintenance or Reliability Engineer. Strong background and broad-based experience in the field of maintenance, reliability, or engineering preferred. A practical knowledge of current maintenance & reliability best practices and condition monitoring technologies is required.
  • This is a self-motivated position that requires strong customer collaboration, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Responsiveness and professionalism are critical as this position communicates cross-functionally.
  • Must be analytical and can problem solve in a concise and logical manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and manage expectations to create trust and credibility.
  • Ability to interpret financial and nonfinancial data and clearly articulate the economic impact of significant decisions.
  • Process Safety Management experience, and certification as a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) is preferred.

Summary Compensation & Benefits :

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).

Pay Range: $91,900-$153,100 per year
