CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Sterilization Process Engineer. Type: Contract Job Title: Sterilization Process Engineer Location: Durham, NC Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Durham, NC Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, material science, physics, physical science, or a related scientific field Description The Sterilization Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting sterilization technology and terminal sterilization processes across the division. This position requires collaboration across cross-functional teams-including Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Division Engineering-and will provide both technical support and process ownership for internal sterilization equipment and technology. The engineer will interface with internal teams and external vendors to ensure effective and compliant sterilization operations. Requirements: Actively collaborate with engineers, operations personnel, and suppliers to maintain and improve sterilization processes Provide real-time response to production/process upsets, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions Develop and support statistical process control (SPC/SQC) systems Apply first-principles engineering to understand mechanisms and identify root causes Lead validation and requalification activities for sterilization processes Review and analyze process data for performance trends and opportunities for improvement Monitor asset performance to maintain 98% uptime Support change management via documentation and process updates Train technical and operations staff to ensure knowledge transfer and operational efficiency Flexibility to support off-hours or weekend coverage as part of a rotating schedule Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, physics, physical science, or a related scientific discipline Qualifications: 0-3 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing environments Strong collaboration and communication skills Effective experimental design and engineering problem-solving Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of sterilization techniques and regulatory standards (ISO 11135, ISO 11137, ISO 11737, etc.) Experience with radiation-based sterilization (e-beam, gamma, etc.) Background in Life Sciences or medical device industries Familiarity with DMAIC, lean manufacturing, and equipment validation Understanding of microbiological testing, biocompatibility, and sterility assurance Proficiency with data analysis tools (JMP, Minitab) Additional Information No third-party resumes will be accepted Drug testing and/or other employment-related inquiries may be conducted CTG will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of all applicable local, state, and federal laws All interested individuals MUST be able to work on a W2 tax basis (no C2C or third-party vendors) CTG is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer CTG is an E-Verify Company To be considered for this opportunity, please apply directly through our website or email your Word version resume and salary expectations to ....
