Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design efforts and provide engineering support across all project phases.
- Design and develop large-scale moving structures and mechanized systems.
- Contribute to design, documentation, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
- Offer technical guidance and clear communication to project teams.
- Evaluate interdisciplinary ideas and collaborate with high-performing teammates.
- Apply analytical skills to solve complex engineering challenges and meet ambitious project goals.
- Perform conceptual design and estimate weights and details for proposals.
- Develop detailed mechanical designs using SolidWorks, FEA tools, and applicable codes.
- Produce calculations, drawings, and conduct shop and field inspections.
- Stay current with mechanical codes and industry standards.
- Communicate with clients and assist in developing design budgets and schedules.
- Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with budget and timeline.
- Coordinate with design teams to meet project objectives.
- Participate in design reviews with contractors, architects, and consultants.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate mechanical systems with structural and electrical components.
- Provide updates during project review meetings.
- Support field teams and procurement in sourcing required materials.
- Assist in prototype development and documentation.
- Contribute to operation and maintenance manual creation.
- Conduct vendor site visits for inspections and quality assurance.
- Support technical outreach through articles and publications to enhance company visibility.
- Drive continuous improvement in design quality, performance, cost, and maintainability.
Essential Skills
- Strong background in mechanical and structural design.
- Proven experience in the design of large moving structures.
- Experience with fatigue analysis, stress analysis using Ansys or similar FEA software
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Familiarity with current mechanical codes and standards.
- Experience leading and coordinating design teams.
