Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer

Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Senior Civil/Enviromental Engineer to help development of the stormwater practice in our NYC office and the NY/NJ region.

• Design of stormwater, grey and green infrastructure conveyance and treatment facilities
• Plans, schedules, and conducts engineering work on projects of small to medium sizes
• Responsible for budget, schedule and quality standards
• Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments
• Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to stormwater/civil/environmental engineering field
• Carries out complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures to create new or refined equipment, material, processes or methods
• Assists in proposal preparation and interviews and may be included in contract negotiations with clients after selection
• Develops relationships with existing clients and has responsibility for client maintenance at staff level on existing projects
• Works closely with subconsultants on projects
• Active in professional associations, including attendance and participation in local, regional, and national conventions
• co-leads and supports development of the Carollo stormwater practice in NYC
• Travel required when requested

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
• 10-15 years of stormwater design experience in the field of environmental consulting engineering with an emphasis in hydraulics, grey and green infrastructure, drainage, site/civil, and familiar with water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of NY
• Must have demonstrated experience with managing and designing medium sized projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards
• Experience designing wastewater treatment plants, including development of conceptual/preliminary designs and detailed design document preparation
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
• Deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints
• Experience working with wastewater collection systems and water and reclaimed water transmission/distribution projects
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel

• Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

$160,000 to $170,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employees pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
