Engineering Technician

Job Description

We are seeking both entry-level and mid-level Engineering Technicians to join our team. You will be responsible for testing concrete for slump, density, and moisture in a laboratory setting. This role offers in-house training and the opportunity to work closely with project managers, engineering technicians, and client and contractor representatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests on concrete to determine slump, density, and moisture levels.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, and client representatives about site requirements and testing results.
• Transport material samples along with identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Prepare and submit written and digital reports of data and observations for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Possibly assist with the scheduling and dispatching of Technicians to project sites.
• Adhere to strict safety standards and provide clear documentation of findings.
• Take on progressively increased training and responsibility in work assignments.

• Proficiency in concrete testing, materials testing, and use of nuclear gauges.
• Strong communication and computer skills, including the ability to log daily field reports and send emails.
• Experience in construction materials testing and quality control is advantageous.

• Certifications such as ACI level are a plus.
• Previous experience in construction materials testing is beneficial.
• Bachelor's or associate's degree in civil engineering, geology, geoscience, or a related field is preferred.

This role is on-site, full-time, with shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours a day. Please note that 40 hours per week is not guaranteed due to weather conditions. Employees will receive a company vehicle, cell phone allowance, and company laptop. The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
