Purpose and Scope:

The Precision Medicine and Diagnostics team is dedicated to the co-development of companion diagnostics alongside our drugs, as well as providing diagnostic testing for patient selection and stratification in clinical studies across all phases of development.

As a Diagnostics Project Manager, you will independently lead and execute PMDx project planning, budget management and timeline tracking for multiple high priority projects, to help ensure activities are delivered to specified timelines and budget with appropriate risk management.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing and managing project plans to ensure timely delivery of PMDx-led activities and maintain alignment with drug development programs.
  • Forecasting and managing budgets, purchase orders, and invoices in collaboration with finance and procurement.
  • Driving delivery and overseeing PMDx contracts with external partners and vendors.
  • Organizing and leading PMDx meetings with internal and external teams, ensuring effective agendas and action tracking.
  • Organizing and maintaining information related to PMDx activities for drug programs and individual clinical studies.
  • Ensuring identification and review of project risks to ensure successful delivery of diagnostic testing and companion diagnostics.
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifying improvement areas and implementing efficient project management methods to improve ways of working and drive greater efficiencies.
  • Ensuring consistency in Project Management activities, methods and templates across programs and projects
  • Mentor more junior Diagnostic Project Managers when applicable.
  • Member of Precision Medicine & Dx project teams supporting drug programs and trials
  • Reports to Global Head of Precision Medicine and Diagnostics.
  • Matrixed relationship to colleagues on Global Development Teams including Precision Medicine & Diagnostic Lead, Alliance Management, Lab Operations, Project Management, Clinical Science, Data Science, Regulatory Affairs and Translational Medicine.
  • Matrixed relationships to colleagues across Medical Affairs and Commercial divisions to support companion diagnostic launch activities.
  • Mentor more junior Diagnostic Project Managers when applicable.
  • Manages PMDx projects for 4-8 trials within 2-4 drug programs based on complexity and extent of Dx activities.
  • Manages PMDx functional activities, as required.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

Required

  • BSc, MSc or PhD in life sciences or other scientific discipline related to diagnostic or pharmaceutical development.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience in a pharmaceutical or other research and development organization; or a minimum of 3 years of project management experience in a precision medicine function of a pharmaceutical company.
  • Proven ability to work independently and proactively as a project management lead.
  • Extensive experience in resource and budget forecasting, purchase order, and invoice management across multiple projects.
  • Proficient in vendor management, contract development, and negotiation.
  • Strong influencing skills and experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective collaboration with diverse teams and ability to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, APM).
  • Project management experience on diagnostic co-development projects.

Salary Range

$145K – $195K (NOTE: Final salary could be more or less, based on experience)
