Job Background & Summary:
We at Actalent Services are a fast-growing engineering consulting group which expanded to Canada in 2014. A significant part of that growth has come out of our Western Canadian Operations predominately focused in Infrastructure and Utilities. To support this growth, we have opened a position for a Sr. PC to join our team on a full-time staff basis. The selected individual will be a part of our Utilities Division based out of New Westminster, BC.
The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for overhead (OH) & underground (UG) power distribution project delivery, while working closely with the technical lead and program manager. Key activities include managing the project team, developing and implementing procedures to improve efficiency, liaising with project stakeholders and meeting project key performance indicators (safety, quality, schedule, cost and continuous improvement). The Project Manager may be asked to support projects outside of distribution work from time to time.
The selected individual will join our rapidly growing team delivering electrical infrastructure projects. We are looking for people that take ownership, are career motivated, well organized and detail oriented with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Business from a Canadian accredited institution.
A minimum of 4 years of project experience experience on distribution overhead projects
A minimum of 2 years experience in PC/PM role, which emphasis on backend PM tasks and responsibilities
A valid Class 5 BC driver's license (or another province equivalent).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficient using MS Office.
Considered an asset:
Distribution electrical design experience
Engineering or Project Engineering/Project Management experience on BC Hydro Distribution Projects.
Experience with BC Hydro DAD and Passport systems
PMP Certification
Job Responsibilities:
Assign and manage work with the design team and provide project leadership.
Assist with project setup; monitor project completion, schedules and budgets; submitting and tracking change notices and assist with client invoicing.
Responsible for the overall quality of project delivery.
Act as key project contact with client for design, technical reviews or construction issues.
Coordinate with clients, co-workers, subcontractors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of design practices and procedures.
Provide corrective actions and problem resolutions for client relationship, team and/or project delivery issues
Determine customers needs and work with customer and internal team to make sure processes run smoothly & successfully
Participates in short- and long-range planning for team resources and pursuit of client assignments.
Organize and attend project meetings.
Advise on the design of OH & UG electrical distribution infrastructure.
Development of potential new business to support business growth
Assist identifying development and training needs for team based on project delivery performance
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $83000.00 - $83000.00/yr.
