Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to collaborate with our Engineering Team on the design, development, and implementation of electronic systems and components. This role requires a strong background in hardware development, PCB design, and system integration, along with proven experience managing relationships with contract manufacturers (CMs). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and capable of driving projects from concept through production.
Primary Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and tests electrical equipment, components, circuits, or systems.
Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to designs.
Performs extensive testing and validation of designs to ensure reliability, performance, and safety standards are achieved.
Conducts research and studies new technologies to innovate and design solutions or products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software and product teams, to ensure integrated system development.
Select and qualify electrical components to meet performance, cost, and lead-time requirements.
Generate and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including BOMs, assembly drawings, test procedures, and design specifications.
Work closely with contract manufacturers on:
DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) reviews.
Technical support during production ramp-up and ongoing builds.
Resolving build and test issues during NPI (New Product Introduction) and sustaining production.
Reviewing and approving PCBA and final product test results and quality reports.
Support supply chain and procurement teams in sourcing decisions and cost reduction initiatives.
Contribute to product lifecycle activities, including ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) and sustaining engineering.
Position Must-Haves:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of industry experience in hardware development, preferably in consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive, or industrial sectors.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or KiCad for schematic and layout.
Experience with EMC/EMI compliance, safety certifications, and reliability testing.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and testing standards.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with internal teams and external partners, including CMs.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
