We are looking for our next Engineering Associate or Project Engineer to join our team at Tualatin Valley Water District!
The Position:
In either position, youll play a key role in supporting the 140 employees who bring safe, clean, and reliable drinking water to nearly 220,000 customers. As an Engineering Associate or Project Engineer, you will be essential in the planning and delivery of our water system capital improvements and maintenance projects. Priorities and Projects:
- Prepare the TVWD water system to bring in the new Willamette Water Supply System (WWSS) starting in 2026. TVWD is the Managing Agency of this 60 MGD supply system and will be responsible for the design and construction of future expansions of this system.
- Executing a variety of capital improvement projects aimed at improving the resiliency of our water system infrastructure. The projects range from water main replacements to new reservoirs, and everything in between!
- Long-range planning to ensure our system is able to deliver water reliably to future generations of TVWD customers.
- Development services, including construction plan review, establishment of new service connections, and construction inspection of expansion projects.
- Supporting our operations team in troubleshooting system issues, planning and design of infrastructure improvements, and operational optimization.

Are You Our Ideal Candidate?
Were looking for someone with the following skills, experience, and traits to join our team:
- Registered as an EIT or Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon, or ability to obtain this within 3-months of starting duties.
- A minimum of 2 years (EA) or 4 years (PE) experience working in an engineering role.
- A committed professional whos passionate about public service and ready to build a long-term career ensuring safe, reliable drinking water for our community.
- Desire to learn, ask questions, and develop their skills as an engineer.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, especially with our engineering consultants and internal construction and maintenance teams.
- Positive attitude with a good sense of humor.
- Ability to be flexible in changing work priorities and can perform independently or in a team.
Compensation/Benefits:
We are hiring for an Engineering Associate or a Project Engineer depending on experience.
Engineering Associate effective 7/1/2025: $88,878.40 - $133,307.20
Project Engineer effective 7/1/2025: $98,841.60 148,262.40
