Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will develop and design electrical motor control systems in compliance with provided specifications and UL508A guidelines. You will also be responsible for developing quotations, supporting sales by visiting customer sites, and preparing schematics, bill of materials, and layout drawings. Additionally, you will provide direction throughout the production process, oversee final testing, and initiate technical documentation for completed projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and design electrical motor control systems according to provided specifications and UL508A guidelines.
- Create quotations for electrical systems based on drawings and specifications.
- Support sales efforts by visiting customer sites to discuss system solutions.
- Prepare schematics, bill of materials, and fabrication and layout drawings.
- Provide guidance and support throughout the production process.
- Oversee and sign-off on final testing of completed systems.
- Initiate final technical documentation for completed projects.
- Provide technical support for customers and the sales team.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electrical engineering and design.
- Expertise in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and EPlan.
- 4-6 years of experience in electrical design, particularly in control panels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Eplan P8 & Pro Panel is strongly preferred.
- Team player mentality.
Work Environment
You will work in a general office setting with occasional exposure to industrial shop environments. The role requires 70% individual work and 30% teamwork. You must be capable of lifting 15 pounds at a time. There will be occasional field visits required. The work environment is relaxed, with opportunities for growth and leadership, supported by a collaborative and hands-on manager.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00/hr.
