Capital Project Manager

This position is responsible for executing the strategic capital plan for a monoclonal antibody manufacturing facility. The incumbent will oversee small and large-scale expansion projects as well as facility and utility upgrades and improvements. These projects will include the design, purchase, and installation of process equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, allocate resources, and develop capital projects, timelines, and budgets.
• Provide engineering support in the development of project specifications including URS, functional specifications, and detailed design.
• Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders on the design, installation, commissioning, factory acceptance test, startup, and validation of equipment.
• Oversee contractor personnel, ensuring projects are completed within desired timelines, meeting engineering, quality, and financial requirements.
• Review proposals and documents to verify adherence to project scope and technical expectations.

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or adjacent field; Chemical or Mechanical disciplines most preferred. On the job experience may be acceptable in place of degree.
• 2+ years previous experience in an engineering role supporting manufacturing operations and/or equipment installation in a regulated environment with a degree. 7+ years previous experience in place of a degree.
• Proven ability to deliver capital projects on-time, within budget, and with desired deliverables.
• Ability to understand, evaluate, and implement validation strategies in tandem with project activities.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to customer service
• Experience with Auto-CAD preferred

This role involves facing vendors and contractors, requiring coordination with different operating teams such as Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Operators. The position is primarily office-based but involves meeting with vendors and minimal travel.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.50 - $52.80/hr.
