Sedron Technologies is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to work Remotely within the United States.
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience to support, troubleshoot, and optimize complex industrial systems in real time. This role is embedded within daily operations, working side-by-side with technicians, operators, and engineering teams to ensure our systems run reliably and efficiently. The ideal candidate brings a deep technical foundation in 480VAC/3Phase power distribution, PLC-based controls, and industrial automation—paired with the urgency and creativity needed to solve issues on the fly.
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
- Respond in real time to system failures, alarms, and operational anomalies—owning troubleshooting efforts and implementing corrective actions
- Interpret and revise electrical drawings and P&IDs to support on-the-ground system understanding and problem-solving
- Support daily operations by inspecting, testing, and tuning PLCs, sensors, actuators, and motor controls to meet performance standards
- Perform hands-on diagnostics of control panels, circuit protection systems, and field devices across multiple process areas
- Collaborate with controls and mechanical engineers to modify and optimize control strategies based on observed site performance
- Provide field-level guidance during installation and commissioning, ensuring compliance with UL508A, NFPA 70, and NFPA 79 standards
- Mentor maintenance and operations personnel on electrical system fundamentals, troubleshooting techniques, and safety procedures
- Review and redline field wiring diagrams, control schematics, and equipment layout drawings to reflect as-built conditions
- Monitor system performance to identify recurring issues or inefficiencies and propose technical improvements
- Drive safety culture by ensuring lockout/tagout (LOTO), HazMat, and electrical safety standards are upheld during all work
- Maintain clear documentation of changes, solutions, and lessons learned for use in future system design and training
- Collaborate across disciplines, effectively communicating with technicians, engineers, and stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency practices, including adherence to 5S and HazMat standards
- Solve complex technical challenges with creativity and innovation, delivering solutions on time and within budget
- Demonstrate the ability to work individually and within a multidisciplinary team, communicating and collaborating with technicians and engineers alike
- Demonstrate passion and excitement for solving difficult yet exciting tasks
- Arrive to work on time and maintain good attendance
- Perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- 10+ years of relevant experience in industrial environments, with a focus on field support, troubleshooting, and controls
- Proven expertise in PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial automation
- Deep understanding of electrical codes and standards (UL508A, NFPA 79, NEC/NFPA 70)
- Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal, EPlan, or similar tools a plus
- Ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize multiple issues, and remain calm in fast-paced operational settings
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test
- Comfortable working in various environments, including heights, confined spaces, and varying temperatures
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Compensation range for this role is between $120,000 - $160,000 annually
- This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
- This role requires approximately 30% travel to support Sedron facilities

The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring
