Engineering Technician

Job Description

Are you a dynamic Engineering Technologist ready to transform field insights into cutting-edge designs? Join our team and play a crucial role in supporting innovative design projects. Using BOUDa powerful tool similar to MicroStationyou will translate real-world observations into detailed designs, creating accurate bills of materials and comprehensive project packages. Your work will drive the success of distribution electrical designs in 2D, making a direct impact on our engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Field-to-Design Translation: Capture detailed field notes and convert them into precise designs using BOUD.
  • Material Management: Create comprehensive bills of materials and meticulously estimate and requisition materials for electrical projects.
  • Project Packaging: Prepare robust project and job packages with Expert Designer and WMIS, ensuring all elements are aligned with project requirements.
  • Electrical Design: Develop reliable and innovative 2D electrical distribution systems that meet stringent industry standards.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong drafting and design skills with hands-on experience in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other CAD software.
  • Engineering Acumen: Solid understanding of electrical design principles and basic engineering theories.
  • Effective Communicator: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Educational Background : A degree from an accredited two-year or four-year college/university; EIT certification or passage of the Engineering Fundamentals Exam is a plus.

Additional Skills

  • Leadership or customer-focused experience across various industries is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with additional platforms like BOUD, Smallworld, Bentley, and MicroStation further distinguishes your candidacy.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
