Position Summary

The Tool Engineer will be actively working with the Manufacturing Engineers to create and update tools and fixtures for both assembly and test operations. The individual will be assisting the senior engineers on concept designs, documentations, fabrication, and validation of the newly created tools. Additionally, the subject matter will be assisting to create tool kits for both assembly and test operations. Other related tasks may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist manufacturing engineers in creating concept design tools and fixtures using 3D modeling in CATIA.
  • Test and validate the concept design tools and fixtures by creating prototype of the tools using in house 3D Printers.
  • Coordinate and assist with fabricating and assembly of the tools and fixtures using 3D printer, internal machine shop, and outside manufacturing sources.
  • Create documentation and drawing of the newly created tools In Accordance With (IAW) ANSI standards and release them into ENOVIA.
  • Make improvements to the existing tools and fixtures and update the documentations as necessary.
  • Create and update tool kits as necessary and update the kits' documentations.
  • Ensure Solumina process routes have all the latest tools and tool kits called out and make updates as needed.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor of science in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Sufficient understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack up IAW to ANSI standards.
  • Strong 3D modeling and drawing creation skill with CAD software preferably with CATIA.
  • Being hands on using general tools, assembly and fabrication of tools.
  • Familiar with fabrication methods such as 3D printing, Lathe, and mill machining.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

Competitive Compensation

Salary Range: $20.00/hr - $24.00/hr

This role is part-time with a duration of one year.
