Utility Product Design Engineer - Canton, Ohio - JOB #25-01351

Salary Range: $80K to $100K - Permanent Position / Benefits

DESCRIPTION:

Canton, Ohio area Engineering Firm seeks an experienced Utility Product Design Engineer who is capable of providing designs and engineering calculations for structural steel pole structures used in conjunction with electrical transmission, substation and power distribution systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering with a minimum of (3) years of hands-on experience designing steel pole structures used in conjunction with electrical utilities, transmission, substation and power distribution systems.

P.E. License is Preferred but NOT required.

ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) experience is preferred.

Preferred Candidate would have experience with the design of one or more of the following: traffic signal mast arm poles, high mast lighting, traffic signal structures, tower structures, electrical transmission poles & towers and/or surveillance camera poles.

Design of high voltage (69 kV to 500 kV) transmission lines using PLS-pole. Must be proficient with PLS Pole and AutoCAD.

Knowledgeable with the utility infrastructure industry for transmission line design requirements.

Perform computer modeling and sizing of structures and transmission line components.

Plans and formulates design structures, size system components, performs structural analysis & calculations and makes design recommendations.

Produces concept drawings, and approved detailed engineering drawings for

fabrication.

Knowledgeable with ODOT standards, safety codes, utility standards, and regulations (NESC, ASCE, IEEE, AASHTO, AWS, ASTM).

Solid verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
