Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $59.82-$64.82/Hour
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
Design and analyze AC-DC and DC-DC power systems , including power conversion and control hardware
Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify power and control systems in lab and operational environments
Perform trade studies to evaluate architecture, component, and technology options
Design custom cable assemblies and contribute to system-level electrical design packages
Develop new electronics including PCB-level designs , and support corresponding testing
Create test criteria and collaborate on the design of electrical test systems
Prepare technical documentation including interface control documents (ICDs), schematics, BOMs, and performance reports
Deliver presentations and technical recommendations to internal stakeholders and U.S. Navy customer representatives
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (Masters degree preferred)
5+ years of job-related electrical engineering experience (3+ with a Masters degree)
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Demonstrated experience with MIL-STD-1399 and MIL-STD-461 power system design and qualification
Experience with switch mode DC-DC converters , including control loop stability analysis
Knowledge of 3-phase AC-DC conversion , including transformer design
