More about the roleThis is an exciting job opportunity for an entry level Mechanical Engineer New Product Development onsite in Peachtree City, GA, with Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, the world leader in lighting.
Responsible for the mechanical design of the product (including components). Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, structural, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review, and coordinate with internal and third-party compliance.
Coordinate with marketing to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable, and consistent with the voice of the customer.
Collaborate with remote engineering and internal resources to create the project timeline, deliverables, and completion.
Meet project schedule and cost/budget while collaborating with the mechanical and electrical team researching new technologies and protecting our research investment by filing intellectual property.
Team with Sourcing to confirm vendors are identified, quotations are submitted, and quality standards/form deliverables are met.

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or related
Working knowledge of 3D modeling software
Familiar with injection molded plastic, die cast, or sheet metal design
Knowledge of manufacturing methods & processes
Basic understanding of thermal behaviors
Electrical experience a plus

Salary: $62,200 - $91,190
Bonus: target bonus opportunity - 5%
