Job Summary:

As an Electrical Engineer at Virtual Incision, you will be part of a team that designs, prototype, tests, and produces innovative miniature surgical robots that advance the field of surgery. You will work on projects from conception to manufacturing, collaborating with mechanical and software engineers, surgeons, vendors, and other subject-matter experts to ensure our work continues to enhance patient outcomes while providing excellent value for our customers. This position has responsibility for all aspects of the electronic board design for MIRA Surgical Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and test complex electronic systems and circuit boards for surgical robots, from concept through human use and product release.
  • Develop and sustain electrical systems for both new and existing medical devices.
  • Translate clinical and environmental requirements into tested and documented engineering solutions.
  • Create prototypes to support research, development, and future product iterations.
  • Ensure designs comply with product safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, following the design control processes defined in the QMS.
  • Support quality assurance and regulatory activities throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Some experience with mixed signal design, embedded system design, and PCBA design.
  • Solid hands-on engineering skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) across all levels and organizations.
  • Comfortable with C/C++, Python and Matlab.
  • Must excel in a high-energy small, focused team environment, be able to drive to solutions from rough requirements and have a commitment to high product quality that places patients first.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
