Job Description The Field Engineer will be responsible for overseeing natural gas compressor stations projects, ensuring that natural gas remains pressurized as it travels through pipelines. This is achieved by using compressor stations where gas is compressed either by a turbine, a motor, or an engine. The facilities involve civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, with a significant focus on piping work. Responsibilities
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture.
- Assist the Project Manager in managing smaller projects.
- Understand terms, conditions, and scope of contract.
- Track materials, production, and project costs for review and approval.
- Facilitate subcontractor activities.
- Maintain project schedules.
- Conduct basic estimating, take-offs, and solicitation of quotes.
- Provide onsite administrative support.
- Assist with quality assurance, quality control, and test protocols.
- 3+ years of experience as a Field Engineer or similar role in heavy industrial or power plant projects.
- Experience working for the Owner, EPC, or GC on relevant projects.
- Overseeing subcontractors within disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, civil, and process piping.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience reading prints and using project management software.
- Ability to remain on project sites for extended periods and willingness to work weekends.
- Experience with construction management, industrial plants, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of power plant operations and turbine technology.
- Familiarity with MEP, gas, and turbine systems.
