Senior Mechanical Engineer

Description

Our client are a pioneer in the logging equipment space. Their novel equipment is used in remote locations to harvest wood that would otherwise be unretrievable. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the companys logging equipment. This position leads equipment development, ensures the quality of supplier contributions, and serves as a long-term, embedded expert overseeing both engineering and manufacturing efforts. The role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the company's product innovation, roadmap, and operational excellence.

JOB DUTIES:

- Act as Liaison with clients in remote locations to qualify what specifications are required in order to log in their environment.

- Lead Project Engineering and production innovation.

- Coordinate with contract manufacturers and design consultants to ensure integrity of designs.

- Check analysis work completed by external Consultants and ensure accuracy.

MUST HAVE:

- 8+ years Mechanical Engineering experience in heavy industrial manufacturing

- 3+ years working on Mechanical and Hydraulic systems

- 5+ years of experience in a leadership position with responsibilities around developing a product roadmap

- P.Eng. Designation

- Expert knowledge in hydraulics. Must be able to effectively troubleshoot and solve problems with hydraulic systems

- Strong communication and leadership skills to manage the engineering team and work with manufacturers

NICE TO HAVE:

- Marine experience

- Electrical Engineering aptitude

The best candidates will possess a strong business acumen and an ability to operate without a clearly defined scope of problems and adapt. This is a novel technology, and the successful candidate will need to be able to deal with issues as they come up.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62.50 - $76.92/hr.
