**Senior-Level Civil/Site Development Engineer**
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is seeking a senior-level Civil/Site Development Engineer.
Join POWER Engineers as a Senior Civil/Site Development Engineer in the Civil, Structural, and Architectural Department of the Power Generation Division. We want to provide you with a career path from Lead Engineer to Area Lead, Technical Manager, Project Engineer, Project Manager, or Department Manager. Help us assist multiple types of clients (Independent Power Producers, Municipal Electric Utilities, Investor-Owned Utilities, Contractors, and Developers,) to address their challenges and implement power grid systems of the future. Get experience in a wide range of power plant technologies including biomass, municipal waste, geothermal, hydrogen, fossil fuel, carbon capture, battery energy storage, hydro, and solar. Work for multiple POWER Divisions (Power Generation, Power Delivery, Facilities, and Federal.)
This position will report to the Overland Park, Kansas location with the ability to work remotely.
**Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Develop site layout, grading, storm water management, vehicular circulation, underground utilities, retaining walls, and wastewater management
+ Earthwork and Erosion Control Calculations to avoid unnecessary environmental impact and cost
+ Hydrology and Hydraulic Calculations and Studies to design stormwater management systems including detention and infiltration systems to prevent environmental impacts of flooding.
+ Supervise and mentor less experienced Engineers and CAD Designers (a majority of personnel report to the Overland Park Office.)
+ Participate and lead business development activities for company and Civil Discipline
+ Interface with State and Local permitting agencies and construction entities for US and international projects
+ Perform detailed engineering reviews of the work submitted by others
+ Provide mentorship and guidance to others.
+ Coordinate regularly with the Project Engineer/Manager to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are met
**Required Education/Experience**
+ BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering)degree from an ABET accredited university
+ Professional Engineer License
+ Experience in site design for utilities, industrial facilities, municipal infrastructure, storm drainage and stormwater management design, site grading, roadway and utility design, sanitary sewer design and analysis, construction specification development and development of construction bid packages
+ Eight (8) + years of experience in civil site/design as outlined above
+ The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
+ Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
+ Candidate islegally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
**Desired Education/Experience**
+ Power plant and substation site design experience
+ Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil3D
+ Managerial and leadership skills a plus
