Job Overview
Project Manager position is responsible for overall management and associated conformance to company policy for NIWC projects. Working with the Program Manager this position will be a central point of contact for the performance of all NIWC IPT support work under these projects. This position has the overall responsibility for project performance, financial management, and quality of work, supervision of employees, personnel administration, and responsiveness.
This position is open to Chugach Employees, Chugach Shareholders and Chugach Descendants ONLY
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Manages, organizes, plans, directs, coordinates, controls, administers, monitors, and oversees the day-to-day operational and administrative tasks/activities of the projects.
Manages expectations and relationships with the client senior management, company senior management and project teams.
Anticipates problems and opportunities, and addresses them appropriately and effectively
Oversees the development, implementation and reporting of performance metrics.
Performs continuous review of program performance results and interfaces with government representatives to address status, operational issues, and metrics in a timely manner.
Identifies resources required for the project and oversees employee selection, hiring, and development.
Serves as key team member in proposal efforts to develop solutions that meet existing and potential client expectations.
Ensures work is executed in accordance with company policies and values along with client specifications.
Provides the leadership, direction, and necessary resources to ensure successful and effective contract performance in the areas of safety, quality, cost productivity, compliance, timeliness, accuracy, and cooperation.
Ensures that adequate staffing is available to satisfy requirements of each specific order.
Performs complete management and oversight functions for contract partners and subcontractors.
Performs related work as assigned.
Be willing to travel up to 50%.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science/technical fields from an accredited institution.
Master's degree in management, project or business administration.
Five (5) years of experience in a position of overall leadership with a focus on project management responsibility.
Minimum of (2) years of experience managing USCG IT Services Projects and government contracts with a proven track record of successful management.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Accountable For:
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
Ability to organize and prioritize own work as well as that of assigned staff.
Ability to research and analyze data.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position in support of the Chugach NIWC USCG IPT team. The work may be performed in Charleston, SC or Chesapeake VA. Travel up to fifty percent of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements are typical of an office environment.
