Job Summary:

Reporting to the COO to develop, communicate, manage and complete project as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management

Determines project phases and elements; actively engages contractors and engineers to develop the project and reviews bids from contractors

Prepares and distributes a description and timeline of the project

Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates

Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements

Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems

Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions

Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts

Reviews contractor bids; interviews and assigns personnel to specific phases and elements of the project. Through project coordination meetings and other forms of communication, oversees and coordinates the technical aspects of the project

Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions

Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulation

Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed

Reviews project plans and proposals, then works with management to develop project objectives. Identifies project responsibilities by determining the phases and elements of the project. Calculates time frames and sequences the stages of the project

Prepares status reports and regularly monitors budgets, contractors and schedules. Allocates project resources appropriately; approves expenditures; reviews and administers contractor contracts. Keeps an accurate record and electronic data base of all elements of the projects

Presents procedures, rules and regulations to those involved in the project; maintains a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing procedures. Maintains project integrity and reputation through compliance with state and federal regulations

Backup:

A trained designee will be appointed by management to cover for absences or vacancies; refer to Rembrandt Foods site-specific facility back-up matrix on file.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent

Minimum of 5 years experience

Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications

Positive Attitude

Management and organizational skills to manage time, supplies, personnel and funds

Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate your plans, thoughts, and rationale

Good team leading skills

Preferred:

Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Project

Egg processing or egg drying experience

Creativity: Able to think of new systems and new ways to work. You must be able to think creatively and ask the right questions

Math Skills: Understand mathematical analysis for design and troubleshooting

Mechanical Skills: Ability to understand mechanical concepts and processes as well as use equipment and tools

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify the source of the problem and develop new solutions to problems

Teamwork: Engineers will be part of a team in developing systems, fixing problems, to work well with others

Listening Skills: Listening to workers, teammates and management

Adheres to work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks

Takes appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system.

Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.

Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits
