Job Description Are you ready to lead the design and delivery of high-impact substation projects? Join our Portland-area team as a Project Manager, where youll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of power infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Drive the conceptual, preliminary, and final design of new, upgraded, and expanded substations.
- Support material procurement, construction, commissioning, and energization phases.
- Deliver comprehensive engineering packages including physical, electrical, civil, and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits, and specifications.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure seamless execution, client satisfaction, and stakeholder alignment.
- Mentor and guide design engineers, drafters, and support staff to uphold quality and foster growth.
- Coordinate with expert teams across disciplines such as Protection & Relay Coordination, Transmission & Distribution Studies, Grounding & Civil Engineering, SCADA Integration & Communications, Environmental Planning, Surveying, and Right-of-Way, Project Management & Controls.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years in project and design engineering, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- EIT certification required, Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of power engineering principles.
- Proficiency in industry codes, standards, and design tools.
- Familiarity with project management fundamentals and ability to support execution.
- Experience in the utility or merchant power industry is a strong plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor design personnel within a project team.
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and meeting fast-paced project schedules.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Protection & control substation design experience.
- Master's degree is a bonus.
