Project Management
- Direct and manage complex, large-scale IT implementation and upgrade projects. May also manage multiple smaller complexity projects or special initiatives.
- Provide overall direction and organization to the project effort.
- Define and monitor project objectives, scope, deliverables, schedule and budget.
- Develop project schedule and milestones and ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Develop project work plans and manage/direct project activities.
- Develop project resource plan and monitor resource allocation and alignment.
- Identify, monitor and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Collaborate with technical and functional departments, business owners and subject matter experts.
- Ensure projects are delivering highest quality and are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensure a smooth transition from project execution to support.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and development of future initiatives.
Communication
Regularly communicates with the campus, executive management, steering committees, and other administrative staff regarding:
- Status of current projects and initiatives
- issues that require intervention, decision or support
- planning related to future initiatives
Business Process Analysis and Design
- Provides consultation on the design and implementation of effective administrative and business processes across the University, including process re-engineering and evaluation of organizational effectiveness. Identifies and communicates gaps in software functionality and/or business processes and collaborates with functional users in identifying solutions.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- 5 years Project Management, with at least 3 years of experience managing increasingly complex projects in a technical environment.
- Experience leading and managing large, complex IT projects.
- Experience with both waterfall and agile project management methodology.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Record of project management success, both in results achieved and in the use of project methodology.
- Ability to work across all levels of the organization, including technical and non-technical teams, business owners and executives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a project management environment.
- Experience managing projects in a higher education setting.
- Experience managing cloud application implementation projects.
- Professional certification such as PMP, PMI-ACP are strongly preferred.
