This position is expected to start around January 2026 and continue through the Winter/Spring term (ending approximately May 2026) or continuing into Summer 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

About the Team

Teslas Power Electronics group is looking for interns to designand manufacturepower electronics hardware for a variety of automotiveand energy storageproducts including Cybertruck,Powerwall, Megapack and many other Tesla automotive and energystorage products. The ideal candidate will haveoutstanding academic performance and a passion for hardware design, proficiency with basis EE tools, and have a solid understanding of the theory and application of electronic circuits, magnetics, and capacitors.

  • Simulate and design power converters for use in automotive and energy storage applications
  • Assist validation and debugging for power converters
  • Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout and firmware engineering team to successfully design, validate and manufacture power converters
  • Currently pursuing a degreein Electrical Engineeringor a related field
  • Experience with high voltage (>400 V) testing
  • Lab experience with basic EE tools (Oscilloscope, Network analyzer, Signal Generators etc.)
  • Solid understanding of the operation principle of switched power converters
  • Familiar with schematics capture and power converter circuit simulation tools
  • Familiar with analog and digital circuit design and validation
  • Experience with Altium Designer is preferred
  • Experience with communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI) is preferred
