As a Mechanical Engineer in our newly formed Transvascular Division in San Diego, CA, you will play a key role in creating novel technologies and products related to the delivery of brain computer interfaces. We are looking for entry candidates to assist in performing basic engineering calculations, creating technical drawings, and contributing to product development and troubleshooting. Collaboration with other engineers and project managers is also a key aspect of the role. You will get to work in a creative, fast-paced, highly ethical environment to develop first-of-a-kind products in the new field of brain computer interfaces.

Job Location

Full-time on site at our transvascular division headquarters in San Diego, California.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and Development:

  • Assist in designing mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.

  • Contribute to the design of mechanical components and systems.

  • Create 3D drawings and other fabrication documents using CAD software.

  • Analysis and Testing:

  • Perform basic engineering calculations and analysis for product development.

  • Help test prototypes and troubleshoot mechanical design issues.

  • Conduct simulations and stress tests.

  • Analyze test results and suggest design improvements.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.

  • Communicate design ideas and test results with the team.

  • Maintain documentation for design, maintenance, and testing.

  • Other Tasks:

  • Research and identify solutions to mechanical problems.

  • Produce technical reports and documentation.

  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Required Qualifications

  • Education
  • Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Ability to perform calculations and analysis.
  • Knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Creativity and ability to think outside the box.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $65,000 to $90,000 depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or equity grants subject to board approval and company policy.
