Survey Project Manager Job Description We are seeking a motivated and experienced Survey Project Manager to join our dynamic team and help expand our survey practice across Southern California. This role is focused on delivering high-quality survey projects that meet client expectations, are completed on time, and stay within budget. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a passion for innovation. You'll manage a variety of survey servicesincluding control, boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveyswhile leveraging advanced geospatial technologies such as GPS, terrestrial laser scanning, unmanned aerial systems, mobile mapping, and hydrographic mapping systems. Responsibilities Lead and manage survey projects from proposal through completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence. Develop and maintain strong client relationships across existing and emerging markets. Create tactical action plans for project execution and client development. Serve as a pursuit champion, coordinating efforts with business development managers, regional leaders, and marketing teams. Identify and prioritize target clients; establish and support regional client development initiatives. Contribute to the development of regional business development budgets and strategies. Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery. Oversee and mentor field and office survey staff, fostering professional growth and technical excellence. Perform and review survey calculations and ensure quality control throughout project phases. Write proposals and develop budgets for new and ongoing projects in California. Essential Skills Licensed Professional Land Surveyor with demonstrated expertise in managing survey projects. Ability to self-manage projects, communicate effectively with clients, and mentor junior staff. Project experience with $500K - $2M in yearly revenue. Strong leadership skills with a commitment to staff development and mentoring in geospatial techniques and principles. In-depth knowledge of survey methodologies, technologies, and best practices. Familiarity with state and county mapping requirements in California. Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation Open Roads, and other land surveying software. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Skilled in proposal writing, budget development, and project execution. Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and across departments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Surveying, PLS, Land surveying, Project management, Land Survey. Experience with Civil 3D, Topographic surveys, Civil, Survey analysis, CAD, Land development, and survey crew. Work Environment The work environment is hybrid, with three days in the office. The team culture emphasizes collaboration, learning, accountability, and excellence. You will be part of a team of five or more within the Southern California team. The dress code is business casual, and you will work the AM shift.
