The Sr Electrical Engineer provides Electrical engineering support in design and development of next generation smart thermostats products, as well as supporting current products in the market. Performs skilled electrical/electronic design duties with the use of applicable hardware tools/equipment under minimal supervision. \n Responsibilities Works with cross functional teams including electrical, mechanical, firmware and software engineering to develop product designs from concept to implementation. Decomposes system requirements into straightforward subsystem and/or electrical specifications and rudimentary designs. Design and schematic capture of digital and analog circuits. Apply theoretical and hands-on electrical support to identify problems and accomplish tasks. Develop and execute test documentation for electrical designs. Understand and follow BD processes, design practices, and documentation templates Perform and/or direct engineering documentation in BD ERP: create/change material, BOM; process change orders; and design reviews Collaborate with other engineers and departments to advance projects/tasks Interface with external design partners and suppliers Travels as needed both domestic and International Qualifications Minimum of 5 years' experience in CE product design. Comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering discipline Schematic capture and layout design Analog and digital design and troubleshooting related to electronic devices Experience with microcontroller-based systems preferably ARM Must understand all aspects, both hardware and software, of the I2C and SPI communication protocols. Basic wired connectivity and communication with emphasis on UART, RS485, I2C, and SPI. Knowledge and experience implementing systems with wireless connectivity such as WiFi, BLE, Zigbee, Thread and similar Knowledge in the use of the laboratory tools: oscilloscope, DMM, variable DC power supply, etc. Knowledge in the use of the computer tools: schematic capture, board layout, simulation, etc. Demonstrates interactive verbal and written communication skills and leadership Time management of several assignments having varying scope and complexity Demonstrates and uses in-depth skills and knowledge in area of expertise Education Graduate from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. \n $140,000 - $157,000 a year \n
