This leadership role is part of the Traffic Engineering Section within the Traffic Safety Division. As a recognized expert in transportation and traffic operations, the Branch Manager provides strategic guidance and technical direction to ensure the development and implementation of effective policies, standards, and practices. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage personnel performing transportation engineering tasks. Oversee the development and application of traffic engineering policies and standards. Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Serve as a subject matter expert in traffic operations and safety. Collaborate with governmental agencies, private entities, and contractors. Maintain accountability for high-quality work products with minimal supervision. This position offers the opportunity to influence statewide traffic safety initiatives and contribute to TxDOT's mission of connecting Essential Duties: Oversees the development of traffic engineering policies, procedures and standards in areas such as pavement markings, sign installation and maintenance, and work zone traffic control, while utilizing available resources and maintaining the agency's project objectives.
