This is a full-time, on-site position at Medtronic Santa Ana location, reporting into site quality organization. Medtronic Santa Ana is part of Global Operations and Supply Chain OC Campus, which consists of Santa Ana location (primarily supporting Cardiac Surgery and Structural Heart products manufacturing and Peripheral Vascular Health and Neurovascular product development) and Irvine location (primarily Neurovascular product manufacturing and product development).

As a Senior Engineering Supervisor in Santa Ana operations quality engineering organization, the primary responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities for receiving, final release and PDP inspection team. This includes, but not limited to:

  • Managing their performance, developing talent, engagement and inclusion, communicating business and operational developments, planning, prioritizing and / or directing the responsibilities of direct reports. Closely working with other functional leaders in operations and product development to ensure the operations and projects needs are met.

Supporting operations as a quality engineer through KTBR (keep the business running) activities, projects and initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products or software systems.

  • May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.

  • Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.

  • Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.

  • Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.

  • Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.

  • Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development.

  • Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.

Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Leads and manages quality issues such as nonconformance (NCMR), CAPA, customer complaint product investigations.

  • Provides solutions to complex issues utilizing tools such as DMAIC, LSS, statistical analysis, etc.

  • Provides quality oversights to new product development activities.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering or related role in a regulated industry (medical device or pharmaceutical preferred).

  • 1-2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with Medtronic Performance Systems (MPS)

  • Certifications such as ASQ CQE, CQA, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or equivalent are a plus.

  • Experience with FTQ.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a hands-on, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$124,000.00 - $186,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
