Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a mechanical engineer for the Progeny Business Area, youll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing various types of tactical equipment used onboard Navy submarines. Equipment types include 3-inch submersible devices launched from the submarine internal countermeasure launcher, and 21-inch systems interfacing with Virginia Class torpedo rooms.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Design of electro-mechanical systems used in the defense industry; Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards; Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.
