- Prepare and edit electric distribution design drawings using field data and engineer input.
- Assist in design development utilizing AutoCAD, GIS, and proprietary tools.
- Perform basic field data collection, including pole measurements, photos, and GPS logging.
- Support design teams by updating drawings and entering data into project databases.
- Help assemble permit packages and easement documentation.
- Conduct basic pole loading analysis, with training provided.
- Perform initial self-checks before submitting designs for formal QA/QC review.
- ABET Engineering Degree.
- Experience in Power Distribution.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, civil engineering principles.
- Understanding of electrical design.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, AUD, GIS.
- Knowledge of Google Earth.
- Experience with O-Calc, Pole Foreman, or equivalent pole loading tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Ability to use proprietary field data collection and design platform (training provided).
The work environment is an open, collaborative space that promotes teamwork among Designer Engineers and Design Technicians supporting distribution projects for Duke Energy. You will work in groups on various projects, benefiting from a cooperative atmosphere.
