Kforce has a client in Florence, SC that is seeking an Electrical Engineer.
Job Summary:The Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical system Product Support. The position will play a crucial role in maintaining product integrity, evaluating change opportunities, and integrating new component designs into existing systems. Working to meet agreed upon cost and schedule commitments. Additionally, will provide product support for a variety of electronic elevator components and electrical systems. The candidate should be able to read, understand and create schematics and wiring diagrams, analyze complex problems to identify root cause and develop innovative solutions. Ability to work across disciplines with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field personnel is required.
Responsibilities:
- Work with global and regional, multi-functional teams in support PLM engineering activities including needs analysis, functional allocation, Cost to benefit analysis, architecture development and evaluation, trade off analysis and risk assessment
- Lead and perform Electrical Qualification Testing for EE projects/Products
- Prepare or support system level design failure mode and effects analyses for each end-to-end feature/product prior to development start and verify requirements and design with modeling, simulation, and test as required* Electrical/Electronic Engineering Bachelor's degree
- Able to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, building layouts to analyze complex problems and identify root cause issues and develop innovative solutions
- Ability to work across disciplines with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field personnel
- Hands-on integration, validation, verification and troubleshooting of pre-production systems and workflows
- Working knowledge of power distribution, protection, and control systems
- Experience with North America electrical codes and standards
- Understanding of power components, distribution and protection, controls theory and application
- Electrical engineering background knowledge with wiring diagrams, system analysis, motor, and control applications
- Experience working with suppliers/3rd parties, with national, local code and enforcement agencies. i.e. UL, CSA, ASME, NFPA, TSSA, NEC preferred
- Experience with ECAD tools such as Cadence, PSpice, ViewLogic, AutoCAD, E3 Zuken
- Experience working across disciplines with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field personnel
- Knowledge in PCB design
- Understanding of PCB assembly and other manufacturing processes
- Experience with test and measurement equipment
- Ability to take abstract ideas and formulate or support plans to create product requirements within existing eco-system constraints, timing pressures and customer expectations to identify a solution that achieves quality objectives
- Hands-on lab experience with electrical architecture, embedded software designs and test equipment to support test, integration, and troubleshooting
- Sound electrical engineering background (one or more of the following wiring diagrams, systems analysis)
- Elevator systems knowledge is a plus
