Control EngineerWe are working with a leading engineering and automation organisation seeking a Control Engineer to design, implement, and support advanced control systems across a range of industries including industrial automation, building systems, power, and infrastructure. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with experience in PLC, SCADA, and control system integration who thrives on solving complex engineering challenges.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & EngineeringDevelop engineering designs and documentation for small to medium projects while supporting larger programmesConduct requirements analysis and translate specifications into detailed system designs (including CAD layouts, wiring diagrams, SCADA interfaces, and communication architecture)Prepare technical specifications and perform QA/QC reviews to ensure design integrityDevelop and support factory testing procedures and resolve technical feedbackProgramming & System IntegrationLead the development and configuration of PLC, RTU, HMI, and SCADA systemsProgram, troubleshoot, and optimise control systems across multiple platformsDevelop and execute commissioning and testing proceduresProduce test scripts, reports, and simulation tools to support system validationSupport both factory and on-site commissioning activitiesTesting, Commissioning & MaintenancePerform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning across project lifecycle stagesSupport upgrades, modifications, and lifecycle maintenance of existing and legacy systemsEnsure systems meet performance, reliability, and operational requirementsProject & Team SupportConduct site surveys and contribute to estimates, bids, and proposalsAssist with change order evaluation and cost assessmentsCoordinate technical activities across project teams, including engineers and techniciansCandidate ProfileTechnical ExperienceStrong ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematicsExperience in system startup, configuration, calibration, and troubleshootingFamiliarity with industrial networking and engineering tools such as AutoCAD or EPLANHands-on experience with electrical tools and test equipmentCore SkillsProficiency in industrial programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text)Experience with major PLC/DDC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, ABB, Niagara)Experience with SCADA systems (e.g., AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC, FactoryTalk)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office and general engineering softwarePreferred QualificationsIndustry certifications such as CAP, CSSA, or EITVendor/platform certifications across PLC or SCADA systemsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field with 2+ years of experience, or a Master's degree in a related field (entry-level considered)About the OpportunityThis is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation delivering complex control system solutions across critical infrastructure projects.
