Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Autonomous Maritime Platforms Business, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the design and development of advanced autonomous subsea systems and vehicles. We are looking for a dynamic individual to support our mission of delivering cutting edge solutions to our valued customers.

Highly skilled in Mechanical Engineering Design
Strong Proficiency with SolidWorks MCAD and PTC Windchill PDM Software
Engineering background/experience in the Undersea Domain

Knowledge of autonomous/unmanned undersea vehicle (AUV/UUVs) technologies, principles, theories, and concepts
Hands-on experience assembling prototype systems
Ability to supervise or manage lower-level employees
Experience leading tasks for small to medium teams or projects
Creative thinker ready to design and develop innovative solutions from conception to production
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
Exceptional communication skills with experience writing technical papers and proposals
