About the Role A top engineering firm is seeking an experienced Branch Office Manager with a strong background in water resources engineering and consulting. This leader will oversee daily office operations, guide multidisciplinary project teams, and ensure the successful delivery of highquality water resources projects. The ideal candidate excels in strategic planning, client relationship management, and operational leadership, with the ability to support both project performance and regional growth. This position requires deep knowledge of water resources engineering practices, strong business development capabilities, and the ability to lead and mentor diverse teams. Responsibilities Office & Team Management Supervise branch office staff and support their professional development. Ensure branch operations align with company policies, standards, and quality procedures. Participate in setting goals for workload, profitability, and annual bookings-and take ownership of meeting them. Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality expectations. Promote a collaborative, highmorale work environment and strong cooperation with other offices. Provide regular updates and operational insights to the executive leadership team. Prepare the branch office's annual performance report. Administration Develop annual capital budget requests for the branch. Assist in identifying office space and negotiating lease terms when needed. Oversee office equipment, systems, and organizational processes. Human Resources Monitor staffing levels and collaborate with leadership on future hiring needs. Participate in recruiting and interviewing efforts. Support employees in setting and achieving professional development goals. Provide input for annual performance reviews and salary adjustments. Conduct internal investigations and implement disciplinary actions when appropriate. Business Development Lead and coordinate business development activities for the region. Build new client relationships and support project managers in maintaining existing ones. Identify and forecast future business opportunities in the water resources sector. Develop business development budgets and coordinate marketing materials for the branch. Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain reciprocity. Minimum of 10 years of experience in water resources or civil engineering consulting. Demonstrated success in marketing and business development. Understanding of legal, financial, and business aspects of consulting engineering. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proven ability to lead an office and take responsibility for its performance. Valid U.S. work authorization.
