Job Description This Civil Designer role focuses on preparing comprehensive site development construction drawings and infrastructure designs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The position involves designing water, sewer, and storm drainage systems, developing supporting engineering calculations, and preparing permit applications for local and state agencies. The Civil Designer collaborates closely with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams while using AutoCAD Civil 3D to model and refine site development designs. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed site development construction drawings for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Design water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure systems that meet applicable standards and project requirements.
- Develop engineering design considerations and perform supporting calculations for site development projects.
- Prepare permit applications and supporting documentation for submission to local and state agencies.
- Coordinate regularly with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals, schedules, and deliverables are met.
- Model, refine, and update site development designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Apply sound civil engineering principles to land development, grading, drainage, and stormwater management designs.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project progress.
- Maintain a client serviceoriented approach while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain EIT certification within 6 months.
- At least 2 years of experience designing land development projects using Civil 3D.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications.
- Experience in civil design for site development, including grading, drainage, and stormwater systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Client serviceoriented mindset.
- Experience with land development projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
