Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline
15+ years of experience designing and developing complex systems and devices
10+ years of experience within the medical device industry
5+ years of engineering management or people leadership experience
Strong background in optical-mechanical system design and packaging
Experience leading the development of optical devices and subsystems
Working knowledge of optical materials, coatings, and geometric optics
Experience with optical system integration and troubleshooting
Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks
Experience integrating Zemax optical designs into mechanical hardware
Strong understanding of thermal management solutions
Expertise in tolerance analysis, GD&T, and engineering documentation
Deep understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes for optical assemblies
Desired Skills & Experience
Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
Experience developing mid-power laser systems
Knowledge of disposable surgical fiber products
Expertise in thermal management of laser-based systems
Familiarity with additive manufacturing technologies
Experience with laser-sintered metal components
Experience supporting FDA-regulated medical device development
Experience introducing advanced manufacturing technologies into product development
