Alliance Tubular Holdings LLC seeks a Metallurgical Engineer for its manufacturing facility in Darlington, Pennsylvania. This position will be responsible for providing technical expertise to the Operations, Quality, and Sales departments in the areas of product development, process control, quality improvements, and failure analysis of tubular products. This position will analyze and test various metals to determine their mechanical and metallurgical properties and to carry out failure analyses in analyzing product design issues. This position will be responsible for developing new products, improving quality, and enhancing processes. This position requires domestic travel approximately 25% of the time.**Job Duties: **- Analyze sales inquiries to determine the feasibility of the production of new products.- Produce products with specified properties and structures using the design of processing.- Analyze data to develop new products and processes.- Generate reports for product qualification.- Assist Production and Quality departments in analyzing information to improve or solve problems in the processing of new and existing products.- Perform structure and property analysis for product development and process capability.- Complete failure analysis of products and internal structures.- Develop and optimize process control parameters for Welding and Heat Treatment operations to ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective and sustainable Lean Manufacturing program to reduce manufacturing waste.- Develop and implement standard data collection plans and reporting techniques.- Produce standard graphical analysis where required to support improvement activities.- Provide technical support for Sales, Production, Quality, and Engineering departments.** Job Requirements:**- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering field (equivalent foreign degrees accepted). - Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a metallurgist role for the metallurgy industry. This experience must include at least four (4) years of experience:o Performing failure analysis of products and internal structures;o Utilizing the design of processing to produce products with specified properties and structures;o Generating formal reports for product/material qualification;o Assisting various departments in analyzing information to improve or solve problems in the processing of new and existing products;o Performing structure and property analysis for product development and process capability;o Developing and implementing standard data collection plans and reporting techniques; ando Producing standard graphical analysis where required to support improvement activities. - Demonstrated knowledge of:o Physical Metallurgy and Heat Treatment best practices;o Welding processes;o Advanced Manufacturing process;o Process and Product Control Methodologies; ando Business software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.- Must be able to work weekends and on-call as necessary.**Apply via email: ... or call ....**
