Graduate Engineer I or II, Project Engineer, or Senior Project Engineer

Have a degree in Civil Engineering, or a similar engineering degree? The City of San Marcos is hiring within our Engineering and Capital Improvements Department. This position will manage capital improvements projects for various types of projects, which may include water, wastewater, drainage, transportation and airport improvements. They help develop the complex system that is San Marcos, and without them, the citizens and visitors couldnt enjoy this City and all it has to offer. 1. Serving as a Project Manager on capital improvements projects.
2. Planning, designing, implementing, and overseeing construction.
3. Serving as engineering liaison for airport projects.

If you have your bachelors in Civil Engineering (or similar degree) from an ABET accredited university, you may qualify for our Graduate Engineer I position, which starts at $73,500/year.

If you have your bachelors in Civil Engineering (or similar degree) from an ABET accredited university and your EIT certification for Texas (or have passed your Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) with 2 years' experience , you may qualify for our Graduate Engineer II position, which starts at $80,500/year . Already have your PE (or have met all criteria for a PE)? You may qualify for a Project Engineer position which starts at $90,000/year.
Have your PE and 10 years' experience? You may qualify for a Senior Engineer position which starts at $100,000/year. WORK HOURS *8:00am - 5:00pm
Monday - Friday

*Flexible working options such as Teleworking and Alternative start times are available.

• This position will allow you to designate an alternative start time between 7 am and 9 am; but you must work 8 hours per day and complete your work by 7pm, Monday-Friday
• This position will allow for up to 2 days per week teleworking after the first 6 months.
