The Allegro team is united by a clear purposeadvancing technologies that make the world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the businessfrom breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.

The Opportunity

The Senior Principal Analog Design Engineer will be a key contributor to the design and development of complex analog integrated circuits for Allegro's next-generation products. This role requires deep expertise in analog circuit design, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead technical initiatives within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of analog IC development, from concept to silicon validation, ensuring high-performance, robust, and cost-effective solutions for automotive, industrial, and consumer applications.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the architectural definition, design, simulation, and layout supervision of complex analog and mixed-signal circuits, such as ADCs, DACs, LDOs, bandgap references, amplifiers, and high-voltage interfaces.

  • Drive the definition of analog circuit blocks based on system-level requirements and specifications, collaborating closely with system architects, digital designers, and test engineers.

  • Perform detailed transistor-level circuit design, including schematic capture, simulation (e.g., Spectre, HSPICE), and verification using advanced EDA tools.

  • Oversee and guide layout engineers to ensure optimal performance, matching, and robustness of analog circuits.

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-silicon verification, including corner simulations, Monte Carlo analysis, noise analysis, and reliability checks.

  • Develop and implement innovative analog circuit solutions to meet challenging performance, power, and area targets.

  • Participate in silicon bring-up, characterization, and debugging, working closely with test and product engineering teams to ensure successful product launch.

  • Mentor junior and staff engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

  • Contribute to intellectual property generation through invention disclosures and patent applications.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and design methodologies to continuously improve design practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, applications, digital design, and manufacturing to ensure seamless product development.

What You Will Bring

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • 12+ years of experience in analog IC design, with a proven track record of successful product tape-outs in a semiconductor company.

  • Deep expertise in the design of various analog building blocks, such as op-amps, comparators, bandgap references, LDOs, data converters (ADCs/DACs), and PLLs.

  • Extensive experience with Cadence design tools (Virtuoso, Spectre, ADE-XL) and strong proficiency in analog simulation and verification methodologies.

  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics, process technologies (e.g., BCD, CMOS), and their impact on circuit performance.

  • Experience with high-voltage design, power management ICs, or magnetic sensor interfaces is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex analog circuits.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and mentor others.

  • Ability to lead technical projects and drive design decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automotive qualification standards (e.g., AEC-Q100).

  • Familiarity with functional safety concepts (e.g., ISO 26262).

  • Experience with mixed-signal verification methodologies.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) for design automation and data analysis.

  • Prior experience in a principal or lead design role.
