“We hire for a wide variety of roles,” said Laura Staberg, SHRM-CP, Talent Acquisition Manager, MCG. “We hire field positions ranging from Laborer to Foreman, engineering, management, and support roles – everything from a Construction Manager on up. We also hire support staff ranging from Project Coordinators to administrative and safety personnel.”

Dagoberto (Tony) Cruz, Senior Fleet Manager, agreed that MCG’s culture is fast paced, which helps spur employee growth.

“We are just continuously moving at a very great pace to make sure markets, employees, and everything that’s needed are moving and operating as designed,” Cruz said. “With that, you’re able to grow, not just professionally but personally. And, as we continue to grow, different opportunities arise.”

Cruz pointed out that employees can pursue other job openings within MCG, sometimes in other locations, to meet their career goals.

“I’ve watched a lot of people as they’ve grown in their career at a particular city, and then they see that there’s a job opening for another position in another city. They’re able to transfer right over there and continue to grow,” he explained.

Ricardo Silva Nieves, Laborer/Groundman, was also quick to speak about MCG’s dedication to employee growth.

“Since I joined MasTec, I’ve experienced personal growth. The people here have taught me very well, both the group leader (foreman) and my fellow laborer colleagues.”

Joe Vitali, Senior Warehouse Specialist, took a unique approach when describing MCG’s culture.

“When speaking on the culture of MasTec, I use the acronym of M.A.S.T.E.C.: Motivating, Autonomous, Safety, Teamwork, Engaging, and Challenging,” he said, detailing the meaning of each word:
