A Sales Engineer in the engineering industry is a pivotal role that combines technical knowledge with sales skills. They are responsible for promoting and selling complex scientific and technological products or services to businesses. A Sales Engineer is tasked with identifying potential customers, conducting presentations and product demonstrations, negotiating contracts, and updating client databases. Oftentimes, they also provide technical advice to customers and liaise with other members of the sales team.
Important skills for this role include excellent verbal and written communication, strong problem-solving abilities, and an in-depth understanding of engineering products or services.
