Project Engineer- Electrical
Location: Hopkinton, Massachusetts (On-site)

Role Overview
This position supports the LNG Engineering & Technical Services group by providing design review, specification development, and overall support for plant electrical, instrumentation, and controls projects. The role involves a high level of knowledge of plant systems, including electrical switchgear, motor control centers, VFDs, transmitters, and PLC/DCS systems. The engineer will guide the selection and integration of new equipment, manage projects within their discipline, and ensure all work complies with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in project meetings, serving as the subject matter expert for instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems.
Assist project managers in the planning, execution, engineering, and management of capital projects.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with NFPA 59A, 70E, 40 CFR 193, Article 500 of the NEC, and other applicable standards.
Support the development of project budgets, cost estimates, and bid specifications.
Manage and execute projects related to low and medium voltage power systems, controls systems, security systems, and instrumentation.
Respond to submittals and RFIs in a timely manner.
Support the development of new process and equipment procedures.
Identify and document lessons learned for future projects.
Provide on-site construction support, monitoring quality and providing feedback.
Travel to various sites within Massachusetts and one site in Connecticut as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education: An Associate's degree or higher is required.
Experience: 8-10 years of experience on an engineering, maintenance, technology, or construction project team supporting power, manufacturing, or process plant construction and maintenance.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of AC and DC power, hazardous area classifications, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, VFDs, motors, UPS systems, instrumentation, and fiber optics.
Ability to interpret drawings and other technical documents.
Capability to perform basic calculations to confirm the sizing of equipment and conductors.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must have a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle for travel between sites.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with LNG is a significant plus.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $55.00/hr to $60.00/hr. Please note that the final pay rate will be determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience and qualifications.
